Abstract

This article examines new literary representations of rural life, with a focus on Catalan literature. After offering an appropriate definition of new ruralism, the article adopts two analytical approaches. Thematically, it explores how some authors seek to reformulate the literary tradition of walking as a means of bridging the dichotomous divide between humans and nature. Formally, it analyzes the literary techniques used to narrate these new rural spaces from an ecoliterary perspective. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
