Abstract

This article focuses on a quality improvement project assessing the use of a workplace relaxation room to reduce occupational stress among healthcare staff. Over an eight-week period, staff including nurses and other healthcare workers were invited to use a relaxation room equipped with stress-reducing items and educational resources. Although quantitative measures using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) and Gallup Q12 survey did not show statistically significant changes—likely due to a small sample size—qualitative feedback from participants indicated a positive perception of the relaxation room as a beneficial space for stress relief. The project highlights the potential value of dedicated relaxation spaces in healthcare settings to support employee wellness, while noting challenges such as limited staffing, time constraints, and workplace culture that may affect utilization and outcomes.
