Abstract

The article focuses on Lü Bu, a prominent figure from the ancient Chinese Three Kingdoms era, known for his exceptional martial skills and notorious betrayal. Initially a trusted aide to Ding Yuan, Lü Bu's ambition led him to murder his mentor and align with the warlord Dong Zhuo, whom he later assassinated after enduring violent outbursts. Despite his military prowess, Lü Bu's repeated betrayals alienated potential allies, ultimately leading to his downfall when he was captured and executed by Cao Cao in 199 CE. His legacy endures in Chinese literature and culture, reflecting the complexities of loyalty and ambition in a tumultuous historical period. [Extracted from the article]
