Abstract

The article focuses on the systemic denial of women's rights in Nigeria, where legal protections are undermined by cultural and religious practices. Topics include the persistence of child marriage despite constitutional bans, the clash between legal rights and customary laws in matters of property inheritance, and the detrimental impact of cultural norms on women's health, safety, and access to justice. It highlights how weak law enforcement and patriarchal values hinder progress.
