Abstract
The article focuses on the character John Tanner in Bernard Shaw's "Man and Superman," examining the connections between the character and the Don Juan myth in European literature. Topics discussed include the common association of John Tanner with Juan Tenorio from Tirso de Molina's "El Burlador de Sevilla," the claim that the personality of John Tanner was modeled after the real-life socialist Henry Mayers Hyndman, and the author's contention that there is evidence to suggest.
