Abstract

The article focuses on a study examining the effectiveness of an embodied imagery strategy for improving middle school students' learning outcomes in classical poetry. The research involved three experiments that compared embodied imagery with general imagery and free learning strategies, as well as the impact of instructional scaffolding. Results indicated that embodied imagery significantly enhanced students' poetry learning, particularly in emotional interpretation, and that visual imagery scaffolding further improved its effectiveness. The study suggests that this approach may be beneficial for students with lower prior knowledge in enhancing their comprehension and emotional engagement with classical poetry.
