Abstract
The article "Silent networks" by philosopher Bruno Latour explores the concept that objects, not just humans, possess agency and can shape outcomes through their actions. Latour's actor-network theory emphasizes that both human and non-human entities play roles in shaping events and carry agency and value. This theory challenges us to view everyday objects as active participants in a dynamic cultural and social web, inviting us to broaden our understanding of connection beyond just human relationships. The article also includes quotes from Albert Einstein and John Donne that further emphasize the interconnectedness of all beings and the importance of expanding our circle of compassion.
