Abstract
The article focuses on the theological themes and pastoral implications of Trinity Sunday scripture readings, particularly Isaiah 6, Romans 8, and John 3, emphasizing the transcendence of God, the Spirit of adoption, and the call to renewal in Christian ministry. It highlights Isaiah’s vision of God’s holiness and the prophet’s cleansing as a model for ministers’ vocation, underscoring that ministry is enabled by God’s grace rather than personal merit. The discussion of Nicodemus in John 3 addresses the tension between faith and unbelief within the Johannine community, acknowledging the presence of anti-Jewish polemics in the text and urging preachers to confront these responsibly in light of contemporary interfaith relations. The article encourages congregations to embrace the mystery of divine life and renewal without perpetuating harmful stereotypes, promoting a message of adoption, trust, and ongoing spiritual transformation.
