Abstract

This article focuses on Indian ghazal and Bollywood singer Pratibha Singh Baghel’s reflections on key albums and collaborations that shaped her musical journey. She highlights influential works such as Madhurani’s *Intezar Ghazal* (1996), which exemplified artistic integrity, and *Lafz Bheege Hain* (2023), an album inspired by poet Sahir Ludhianvi’s unrequited love story, featuring compositions by Rajesh Singh and Paras Nath. Baghel also cites *Ram Shyam Gun Gaan* (1985), sung by Bhimsen Joshi and Lata Mangeshkar, and *Hazir* (1992) by Hariharan and Ustad Zakir Hussain, which taught her the nuances of ghazal gayaki. Her own album *Bole Naina – Silences Speak* (2021), produced by Sufiscore, involved collaborations with Gulzar Sahab, Ustad Zakir Hussain, and Deepak Pandit, reflecting her growth within a creative and supportive musical community.
