Abstract

The article focuses on the biblical metaphor of Jesus as the Good Shepherd, emphasizing God's unconditional and sacrificial love for humanity, likened to a shepherd’s care for sheep. It explores the 23rd Psalm and Jesus’ self-identification as the Good Shepherd in John’s Gospel, highlighting the contrast between genuine shepherding and neglectful leadership. The piece underscores the Christian calling to emulate this shepherding love through service and mission, stressing that the Church’s purpose is to engage compassionately with the world beyond its walls. It concludes that authentic Christian community is defined by active love and outreach rather than institutional preservation.
