Abstract

On the sixth day of Shardiya Navratri, devotees in India worship Maa Katyayani, the fierce warrior goddess. Maa Katyayani is the sixth incarnation of Goddess Durga and is depicted riding a lion with multiple hands, holding a lotus flower and sword. Legend has it that she transformed into Maa Katyayani to defeat the demon Mahishasura. To seek her blessings, devotees should wake up early, wear new red clothes, clean the puja area, offer fresh flowers, chant mantras, and prayers, and hold a lotus flower during the puja. The auspicious colors for the day are red, and the recommended timings for worship are during Brahma muhurta, Abhijit muhurta, and Vijaya muhurat. By worshipping Maa Katyayani, devotees seek wisdom, harmony, courage, protection from evil forces, success, and prosperity. [Extracted from the article]
