Abstract

The article states that a new edition of the earliest surviving coronation rites for Anglo-Saxon kings has been published by The Henry Bradshaw Society, UK. It mentions that a peek into the early coronation ceremonies, where the king wore a helmet instead of a crown, is given by the rituals that go back to the ninth and early tenth centuries.
