Abstract

The author reflects on the pleasure of rereading Jane Austen's novel "Emma." Topics discussed include description of Emma, the female protagonist in the novel, his views on Emma's "errors of imagination," a realization about how ego and overconfidence prevent empathy and clear thinking and his views on Austen.
