Abstract

As part of the Great Commission, Jesus invites us to disciple one another. When Christian teachers practise discipleship by coaching one another, they focus on the formation of godly habits through relationship and responsibility. By doing so, they work towards a better understanding of what it means to teach Christianly, and at the same time, they are equipped to transform their students holistically. This article articulates a conceptual framework developed through the author's Master of Education research project. The Christian Teachers Coaching Framework (CTCF) connects ideas from an existing discipleship model, three models of inquiry learning, and evidence-based research into peer-coaching. It is hoped that this framework will provide a way for teachers to be intentional and relational in their efforts to transform their thinking and practice of teaching Christianly in Christian schools.
