Abstract
"Life Writing in the Posthuman Anthropocene" is a collection of essays edited by Ina Batzke, Lea Espinoza Garrido, and Linda M. Hess that explores the intersection of life writing, posthumanism, and the Anthropocene. The book examines how life writing, a genre traditionally centered on the human perspective, can be repositioned within the context of the Anthropocene, where human activity has significantly impacted the environment. The essays highlight the potential of posthumanist theories to revitalize life writing and address the challenges of the Anthropocene, while also emphasizing the need to consider issues of relationality and responsibility. The book includes contributions that explore topics such as autobiographical voice, posthuman subjectivity, ecological connections, and postcolonial subjectivities. The collection concludes with an interview that discusses narrative agency and the role of nonhuman beings in storytelling. [Extracted from the article]
