Abstract
The article identifies Mr. P as Reverend Thomas Powys, rector of Fawley, Buckinghamshire, England, to be the contributor of poems published in "European Magazine" from October to December 1804. Clues in the text of the poems are cited that helped unearthed the identity of Mr. P such as geographical references to Fawley, biographical information and inclination to fulfill his pastoral duties. It provides information on the career of Powys including as domestic chaplain and Justice of the Peace.
