Abstract

The skeleton of the work teachers do is given shape by three "loves" that all great teachers share: loving who we teach, loving what we teach, and loving how to teach. But for those of us called to teach Christianly, there is a fourth love, one that is more fundamental which enlivens the other three loves in much the same way that our muscles move our bones into action: we have to love our Lord! Teaching Christianly is a working out of our discipleship in a multitude of small ways that demonstrate the way we are seeking to faithfully follow Jesus through our service as educators--animating the skeleton. We will certainly not always do this perfectly, but--thanks be to God--we have the opportunity to be "always becoming" the teachers the Lord calls us to be. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
