Abstract
The article critiques two stage adaptations of the legend of Spanish fictional character Don Juan. Topics discussed include the attitude of Don Juan towards women depicted in Tirso de Molina's play "El burlador de Sevilla y convidado de piedra," the portrayal of ghosts in José Gabriel López de Antuñano and Ignacio García's play "Dom Juan: Les morts ne sont pas morts," and observations on the poetic texts used in the retellings of the character of Don Juan.
