Abstract

The article explores the history of film criticism. It compares literary criticism and film criticism. It describes the work of Leavisite film critic Robin Wood during the 1960s and 1970s, as well as his contributions to the bimonthly magazine "Film Comment." It discusses the decline of magazines of film criticism and the shift of some to online publication.
