Abstract
The book *Performance, ciudadanía y activismo en Chile, 2010–2020* by Paulina Bronfman Collovati and Natalia Bronfman Elphick examines the role of performative and bodily arts in Chile's social and political activism during a decade marked by significant upheaval, including the 2019 Social Revolt and the 2020 constitutional plebiscite. It offers a theoretical framework linking politics and performativity, alongside historical and case-study analyses of artistic activism related to human rights, student movements, and feminist dissent. The authors emphasize how performance art serves as a site for memory, resistance, and political imagination, addressing the complex interplay of trauma, hope, and social transformation within Chile's neoliberal context. The book contributes to understanding how embodied artistic practices challenge dominant narratives and foster new spaces for collective reflection and political engagement.
