Abstract

The author highlights the transformative potential of media in fostering respect, dignity, and inclusion for people with intellectual developmental disabilities (IDD). She talks about the images of individuals with disabilities and specifically IDD, how Society has viewed IDD and disabilities in general, and the role of Special Olympics in creating a better world by fostering acceptance and inclusion of all people.
