Abstract
The article focuses on the use of visual poetry created over finger-paintings made with natural dyes as an embodied reflexive practice to foster eco-justice awareness and deepen students’ relationships with the Earth. This arts-based inquiry integrates ecological literacy and environmental learning by engaging students in outdoor activities such as collecting natural materials and creating art, which cultivates compassion for the more-than-human world and sustainable practices. The practice emphasizes moving beyond cognitive understanding to embodied experience, connecting language, landscape, and community through a pedagogy of shared commons.
