Abstract
The article discusses research on the relationship between historical pathogen prevalence and individuals' perceptions of the future, highlighting findings from a study conducted by the University of Georgia. The study surveyed 18,981 participants across 68 nations and found that those in regions with higher historical disease risk tended to have more positive views about humanity's future compared to those in areas with lower disease risk. This research contributes to understanding how disease risk influences human cognition and emphasizes the need for further exploration of temporal forecasting and consciousness. The study was financially supported by various institutions, including the National Science Centre in Poland and King Saud University. [Extracted from the article]
