Abstract
HBO has completed filming in Mexico for the new series "Like Water For Chocolate," based on the novel by Laura Esquivel. The production took place in Mexico City and Haciendas in the State of Tlaxcala, involving around 1,200 people from the cast and crew. The cast includes Irene Azuela, Azul Guaita, Ari Brickman, Ana Valeria Becerril, Andrea Chaparro, Andres Baida, Angeles Cruz, and Louis David Horne. The series explores the story of Tita de la Garza and Pedro Muzquiz, two lovers who are unable to be together due to family traditions. The show aims to transport the audience to the world of the novel through beautiful natural landscapes and unique Haciendas. This is the first television adaptation of Esquivel's novel and is directed by Julian de Tavira and Ana Lorena Perez Ri'os, with executive producers including Salma Hayek Pinault and Sharon Levy.
