Abstract
This article examines the health impacts of pregnancy and childbirth, challenging the notion that elective abortion is unnecessary or unjustified. It argues that all pregnancies pose significant, often underrecognized health risks with lasting effects, and that abortion access is essential to uphold bodily autonomy and sexual self-determination. The report highlights flaws in maternal health data and critiques restrictive abortion laws for causing harm through misinformation, stigma, and compromised care. It advocates for abortion policies grounded in human rights, ethical principles, and scientific evidence to prevent involuntary pregnancy-related suffering.
