Abstract
The article discusses the challenges of translating the short story Zukin kurabu (The Riding Hood Club) from Japanese into English and how the process can inform the study of fashion in fairy-tale retellings across different languages and cultures. Topics include the challenges encountered in translating Japanese fairy tales into English, the role of fashion and costumes in fairy-tale retellings, and the cultural and literary significance of Ogawa Yōko's Lost and Found Fairy Tales.
