Abstract
The article discusses the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to facilitate communication across linguistic barriers. Rather than creating a universal language, the focus is on developing computer-mediated translation that allows individuals to speak in their preferred language while being understood in real time by others. This technology is already being used in platforms like Facebook and earbud translators. The advancements in multilingual machine translation and natural language processing have made it possible to translate between a hundred different languages, including primarily spoken languages. While this technology offers convenience, it also raises questions about its impact on society and cultural diversity. The article emphasizes the importance of preserving linguistic diversity while exploring new communication tools. [Extracted from the article]
