Abstract

The article announces the winners and honorees of the eighth annual Walter Dean Myers Awards for Outstanding Children's Literature, selected by the We Need Diverse Books Walter Awards Judging Committee. Andrea L. Rogers and Jeff Edwards won the Teen Category for *Man Made Monsters*, with Sabaa Tahir's *All My Rage* and Sonora Reyes's *The Lesbiana's Guide to Catholic School* recognized as teen Honors. In the Young Readers category, Angela Joy and Janelle Washington won for *Choosing Brave: How Mamie Till-Mobley and Emmett Till Sparked the Civil Rights Movement*, while Ibi Zoboi's *Star Child: A Biographical Constellation of Octavia Estelle Butler* and Christina Soontornvat's *The Last Mapmaker* received honors. The awards ceremony and symposium, hosted by author Jacqueline Woodson and featuring a diversity-focused discussion led by We Need Diverse Books CEO Ellen Oh, will take place at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library in Washington, D.C., on March 17 and will be open to the public and livestreamed.
