Abstract
A study conducted by researchers at Boston College explores children's expectations of fairness and favoritism in the context of gender-based pay inequality. The study involved 4- to 11-year-old children and adults, who were asked about their expectations of how boys and girls would be rewarded by a teacher for completing a classroom task. The findings revealed that younger children expected their own gender to be rewarded more favorably, while older children and adults expected gender parity in pay. The study sheds light on children's evolving expectations of reward distribution and their understanding of gender pay parity. [Extracted from the article]
