Abstract
The article highlights the influence of the Yiddish theater in enabling Jewish immigrants to the U.S., shaping attitudes towards Jewish identity and reshaping American Judaism. Information is provided on Russia's anti-religious attitude that led playwright Jacob Gordin to escape to the U.S., actors' improvisation to appeal to the masses, serialization of the memoirs of actors that show respect and appreciation for Judaism and Jewish heritage, and works of actor Jacob Adler and his Noble Jew.
