Abstract

The article discusses the significance of the Furious Flower IV conference and the history of Callaloo. Topics include the celebration of Black poetry at the Furious Flower conference, highlighting poets like Kwame Dawes and Elizabeth Alexander, and the leadership transition to Lauren K. Alleyne; Dr. Charles H. Rowell's founding of Callaloo in 1976 to promote Southern Black voices; and the evolution of Callaloo from a regional journal to a global platform.
