Abstract

This article focuses on recent research from Guangzhou, People's Republic of China, exploring the constructionist framework of emotions and mental states in psychology and philosophy. The study, supported by Zhejiang University and involving Sun Yat-sen University, compares constructionism—which views emotions as arising from the categorization of core affect based on prior experience—with Husserl's Apprehension Model, proposing both as components of the Construction Framework of the Mental (CFM). The research concludes that this framework aligns with contemporary neuroscience and metaphysical perspectives, suggesting its viability for further study in psychology and phenomenology. The findings have undergone peer review and are detailed in the Journal for General Philosophy of Science. [Extracted from the article]
