Abstract

The article titled "EURYDICE STAMMERS" by Eva Heisler, published in Puerto del Sol, explores the theme of communication and self-expression. The poem describes Eurydice, who does not stutter when she whispers to herself at night in a noisy place. The presence of crickets and a mysterious woman in the junkyard seems to have a transformative effect on Eurydice's speech, freeing her from her speech impediment. The poem also mentions Orpheus, who uses peppermint to calm his stomach, which crickets dislike. [Extracted from the article]
