Abstract

The article discusses the approach of author Elizabeth Barrett Browning (EBB) to poetry and the homeric corpus, as well as the influence of Greek on her poetics as seen in her epic poem "Aurora Leigh." Also cited are her works on poetry and classical scholarships, her translation of the poem "Prometheus Bound," and her relationship with Greek scholar Hugh Stuart Boyd.
