Abstract

The article focuses on a study conducted at Tokat Gaziosmanpasa University that investigates the mediating role of athletic character in the relationships among competitive aggression, anger, and sportsmanship in athletes. The research involved 852 athletes, comprising 343 women and 509 men, who participated in various sports at both amateur and professional levels. Findings indicated a strong positive correlation between athletic character and sportsmanship, while competitive aggression and anger were negatively related to both athletic character and sportsmanship. The study concluded that enhancing athletic character could help reduce the negative impacts of competitive aggression and anger on sportsmanship. [Extracted from the article]
