Abstract
Susannah Young-ah Gottlieb's book "Auden and the Muse of History" explores W.H. Auden's struggle to understand the relationship between history and poetry in his work. Gottlieb argues that Auden's writings remain relevant today, particularly in times of historical crisis. Through detailed analysis of Auden's poems and engagement with other writers and critics, Gottlieb sheds new light on Auden's intellectual legacy and challenges readers to reevaluate his significance in modernist poetry.
