Abstract

The article discusses research from the University of Almeria that examines the changing perceptions of motherhood and the factors influencing women's decisions regarding childbearing. The study, which involved a representative sample of 318 women, found that economic and work-related motives, as well as relationship status, significantly impact the choice not to have children. It concludes that social and family pressures have a limited effect on these decisions, indicating a shift in societal norms and expectations surrounding women's roles. The research highlights the increasing autonomy women have over their reproductive choices. [Extracted from the article]
