Abstract

This article examines the educational principles and practices of Ezra’s ministry, highlighting his pivotal role in shaping post-exilic Judaism and its implications for contemporary Christian education. Ezra, a priest and scribe, led the restoration of Israel’s faith through public reading, teaching, and interpretation of the Torah, fostering a Torah-centered community that included men, women, and foreigners. His ministry emphasized covenant renewal, worship, and the formation of a teaching class, contributing to the development of early Judaism and the canonization of the Hebrew Bible. The article concludes with practical lessons for Christian educators, urging a comprehensive, Scripture-centered approach that engages both the faith community and the broader public.
