Abstract
In the article, the author examines the archival evidence showing that the practice of criminal trafficking of African American men was common and widespread in the U.S. during 1880-1915. Also cited are the practice of convict leasing that mislabel the victims of human trafficking and the alleged criminal conspiracy that implicated White participants in criminal activities like kidnapping, perjury, peonage, and false imprisonment.
