Abstract

This article provides a literary and theological analysis of the Book of Ruth, focusing on its narrative structure, literary features, and theological message. It presents Ruth and Boaz as responsible, noble characters through whom God providentially works to restore Naomi and establish the Davidic lineage, culminating in the birth of Obed, David’s grandfather. The analysis highlights themes of loyal-love (ḥesed), divine providence, human responsibility, and covenant continuity from Abraham to David, emphasizing Ruth’s faithfulness and God’s hidden guidance. The article concludes that the Book of Ruth offers enduring principles for believers about trust in God’s providence, faithful service, and participation in God’s redemptive purposes.
