Abstract
Through a close reading of the futuristic, dystopian and humorous novel Barcelona, demà o aquesta tarda (2021) by Francesc Soler, this article analyzes the place of tourism and tourists in the current cultural and literary landscape of Barcelona. While tourists appear often as the ones to be blamed for the inequalities and discomforts of the city, this novel also reflects on the place of the Barcelonian middle and high classes as those responsible and beneficiaries of tourism, as well as the place of younger generations to undo, or not, the place that the tourist industry has carved in the city.
