Abstract
In the book "Becoming Earth: How our planet came to life," science writer Ferris Jabr explores the idea that Earth is a living entity. Drawing on the Gaia hypothesis and the concept of "becoming" by philosopher Gilles Deleuze, Jabr examines the complex relationships between life forms and the Earth itself. He highlights the ever-changing nature of these relationships and emphasizes that humans and other living beings are interconnected with the planet. Jabr also discusses the consequences of human actions, such as climate change and plastic pollution, and calls for climate mitigation strategies to be implemented by governments and corporations.
