Abstract

This article provides a full edition of AO 7685 + VAT 3417, a tablet which contains a praise to Ninisina written in unorthographic Emesal. The text offers new material related to the healing goddess' role in domestic healing practices and includes alternative names attributed to her that are seldom attested in Old Babylonian Sumerian literature. A brief discussion compares this manuscript with other texts from the Old Babylonian Emesal corpus that share the same ductus and tablet format. An examination of the text's orthography and paleography connects it to a group of texts that share a number of unique unorthographic writings and the same characteristic ductus.
