Abstract
A recent study from the University of Buenos Aires explores the concepts of autognosis, historical understanding, and self-awareness in the works of Wilhelm Dilthey and R.G. Collingwood. The researchers argue that Dilthey's idea of 'reexistence' and Collingwood's theory of historical imagination converge through the shared notion of autognosis, or self-knowledge. They suggest that self-awareness plays a crucial role in human knowledge and historical understanding. This research provides insights into the similarities and differences between the psychological perspectives of these two thinkers. [Extracted from the article]
