Abstract
The article discusses "The Odium Dei" from Michael Lieb's essay collection "Theological Milton: Poetry, Discourse and Heresy in the Miltonic Canon." It shows Lieb's view that the Greek Testament emphasizes the wrath and hatred of God and highlights the theme of odium Dei in Christian theology and the War in Heaven in the poem "Paradise Lost" by John Milton. It explores the dialectical nature of the Chariot of Paternal Deity as the vehicle of God's love and mercy, destruction and reclamation.
