Abstract
The article focuses on the experiences of Philadelphia Quakers during the Revolutionary War, as documented in three recently digitized collections: the James Hutchinson Papers, the Sarah Logan Fisher Diaries, and the Wharton and Willing Family Papers. These collections reveal the struggles of Quakers, who adhered to pacifism and faced imprisonment and exile for their refusal to support the revolutionary government. Personal accounts highlight the emotional toll of separation from family members, the challenges of daily life during the war, and the efforts of those left behind to secure the release of their loved ones. The digitization of these documents provides valuable insights into the impact of the war on the Quaker community and their social networks in Philadelphia. [Extracted from the article]
