Abstract

The article focuses on the evolution of Sunzi's (Sun Tzu) "Art of War" in the Western world, highlighting how it became synonymous with strategy despite the absence of an actual historical figure named Sunzi. Topics include the Western interpretation of the ancient Chinese text, the influence of various translators, and its association with indirect strategy largely due to the work of Samuel Griffith and Basil Liddell Hart.
