Abstract

This article examines the challenges and complexities of narrative beginnings in creative writing, focusing on both theoretical and pedagogical perspectives. It explores how beginnings function within narrative structures, highlighting various narrative theories such as Aristotelian plot and Todorov's disequilibrium, while acknowledging the limitations of prescriptive models for diverse and non-linear storytelling.
