Abstract
The article explores the significance of faces in human relationships and their symbolic role in Christian faith, focusing on the depiction and meaning of Jesus' face. While the Bible does not describe Jesus' physical appearance, early Christian art created images reflecting cultural contexts, and the New Testament recounts the Transfiguration, where Jesus' face shone with divine radiance. This radiant face contrasts with the later suffering and disfigurement Jesus endured, symbolizing both divine glory and human affliction. The article suggests that in contemporary times, God's presence is found both in the radiant and the suffering faces of people, embodying hope and shared humanity within the Christian understanding.
