Abstract
This article examines the concept of hope in the writings of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, a Jesuit priest and scientist. It discusses how Teilhard's vision of hope is not naive but grounded in a theology of hope and requires action. The article distinguishes hope from optimism, emphasizing that hope involves suffering and persists even in the face of uncertainty. It also explores Teilhard's teachings on the ecological crisis and the need for spiritual transformation. Ultimately, the article argues that hope is a virtue that compels us to take action and work towards a brighter future. Teilhard's message of hope continues to inspire people from diverse backgrounds. [Extracted from the article]
